Behind the tap: transportme supporting Kinetic’s regional rollout
For passengers, tap on, tap off is designed to be simple. But delivering that simplicity across hundreds of buses and multiple regional networks requires a significant amount of work behind the scenes.
transportme is proud to be working alongside Kinetic as part of Queensland’s Regional Urban Bus (RUB) initiative. Our ticketing platform already supports Kinetic’s urban services in Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton and Townsville, and tap on and tap off payments are now live on the Cairns network, with more regions to follow progressively.
This is a major operational transition that involves coordinating across multiple depots and fleets, preparing systems and operations for change and supporting each stage of implementation as the new technology is rolled out.
As tap on and tap off payments roll out progressively across Kinetic’s regional Queensland networks, transportme is excited to keep working alongside their team throughout the transition.
