Transportme™ is thrilled to announce the successful deployment of its contactless ticketing and tracking solution in partnership with the NSW Government.

This innovative initiative is aimed at enhancing public passenger services in rural and regional areas of New South Wales. Transport for NSW is trialling contactless payment technology on buses in Bathurst and Dubbo. The trial commenced in Bathurst in December 2022 and was launched in Dubbo today.

In collaboration with its payment partner, DataMesh Group, Transportme™ has seamlessly integrated its ticketing and tracking system with Transport for NSW’s transit payment platform. This integration provides passengers with greater flexibility when paying for their bus journeys, now accepting American Express (AMEX), Mastercard, Visa credit or debit cards with the contactless symbol, as well as digital wallet options such as Apple Pay, Google Wallet, and Samsung Pay.

The initial deployment encompasses 27 buses operating from Buslines Group’s Bathurst and Dubbo depots. Each trial will run for up to 12 months. Pending the successful outcome of this trial, up to 300 route service buses across other regional and rural areas of NSW could be installed with contactless card reader technology in the future.
